[ Like a staring contest with a chocobo. Except arguably cuter. He really wouldn't mind sharing with her- especially if it meant giving the movie a little bit of sass. It's clear that the two were using the movie as a means to pass the time together. That and while he's gotten far better at talking and socializing in the months since he got here (and found his true self), it was kind of nice to have talking go on the backburner and just enjoy somebody's company. Silence didn't = awkwardness. More than words.
Weiss' hand dips into the popcorn first, and after she takes a couple passes at snacking, Cloud's free arm not wrapped around the petite huntress dips into his lap for it too. He's less hungry, but he's discovering why popcorn was so addicting in the theatre sometimes. With or without Cordis, it's just habitual to wanna snack on something. There's a break in the movie's action and it's supposed to be an emotionally connecting scene between the protagonist and what he can only assume was their...love interest? He kind of wasn't paying attention- that or the film didn't really set them up well enough. Because Cloud's just kind of "meh" at the next makeout scene and thinking of some popcorn too.
Only this time when he dips his hand into the bucket, he doesn't shy away when it overlaps Weiss'. Her once cooler touch was warmer now. He's okay with being this close to her, she's comforting, and it's no big deal to simply brush his hand over to the side to snag a couple kernels for himself and snack on them. ]
